Abstract

Tofu is a food made from soybeans. Many tofu producers still employ conventional methods to press and mold tofu. The use of conventional equipment is less hygienic, effective and efficient. An automatic pressing and molding machine is necessary to improve the quality and quantity of tofu production. The automatic pressing and molding machine developed in this study has specifications of stainless steel 201 food grade, air pressure of 4-6 bars, piston pneumatic rod with a diameter of 40 and 32 mm, and an embedded microcontroller. The results showed that the use of the automatic machine could improve the quality and quantity of tofu production. © 2017 IEEE.
