Comparing the characteristics of undergraduate program of information system in public and private universities

Abstract

The study was conducted to compare the Information System programs in public and private universities in East Java, and to investigate the quality of both universities. Characteristics that will be compared are vision and mission, curriculum, lecturers, and graduate profile. Twenty-one universities were taken as the samples of the study, consisting of three public universities and eighteen private universities. The results of the research showed that public universities were better than private universities in term of vision and mission, curriculum, and educational background of the lecturers. Mapping of the graduate profile for this research was based on the graduate profiles listed on the university's official website. © 2017 IEEE.
