Abstract

This chapter outlines the consequences and provides recommendations for global policymakers, emphasising the need to reimagine education in light of rapid global changes. Life-Based Learning (LBL) is an essential educational framework that correlates learning with real-world complexities, technological advancements, and human development. It promotes transitioning from conventional, institution-focused education to a more inclusive, adaptive, and life-oriented methodology. The core of this perspective is the incorporation of character development, future-oriented skills, and lifelong learning as equally important objectives of education. This chapter examines how LBL facilitates the development of intellectual agility, ethical awareness, creativity, and social responsibility in learners. Recommendations are offered in essential policy domains, encompassing curriculum reform, governance transformation, digital infrastructure enhancement, and equitable access. By embracing the tenets of Life-Based Learning, educational systems can more effectively equip individuals to excel in a dynamic, interconnected environment and make significant contributions to a sustainable global future. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2026.
