Life-based learning is an educational approach that integrates life experiences, skills, and knowledge into a holistic learning model. In response to the rapidly evolving technological landscapes of Industry 4.0 and 5.0, it aims to ensure that education remains relevant to societal and professional demands. This chapter examines the epistemology, ontology, and axiology of life-based learning, with a focus on its role in promoting lifelong learning, adaptability, and creativity. It highlights the importance of education extending beyond the classroom, embracing the flexibility and adaptability required in modern work environments. Through a comprehensive analysis of knowledge acquisition, the chapter emphasises the importance of active engagement, critical thinking, and experiential learning in preparing individuals for the complexities of an interconnected world. Furthermore, the integration of values such as social responsibility, sustainability, and empathy is discussed as essential to the ethical framework of life-based learning. By adopting this approach, educational systems can create adaptable, responsible individuals who are equipped to thrive in a technology-driven society. The chapter also emphasises the need for educational institutions to embrace the changing dynamics of learning, encouraging personal initiative and responsibility.
