Abstract

Direct current simulations have been carried out using the 3D finite element method in an acrylic box. The purpose of the simulation is to find out the potential distribution of the box when the medium inside is injected direct current. From this distribution, it can be seen which areas can be used to conduct geoelectric acquisitions in an acrylic box. The results of the simulation are used as a reference for building media not only for geoelectric research but also for education by using acrylic box. The research method is comparing the potential distribution of infinitive box simulations that represent the condition of the earth to the potential distribution of acrylic box. The results shows that the experiment must be carried out right in the middle of the box within in line electrodes configuration. © 2019 Author(s).
