Abstract

Social media currently becoming a media that cover all ages-users in all aspects of life. The power of social media to change a lifestyle is potentially used to transform information, science, and technology. A popular social media such as YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook has reached more than a million users each year. The use of social media becoming a basic need for most of the students right now. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to discover the utilization of social media used for learning tools and environments. A comparative study of social media utilization has done to describe a comparison overview of the most popular social media used for the learning environment. The result shows that Facebook has many features that can support e-learning. The e-learning through Facebook can make an effective learning process as an additional discussion platform for sharing the materials inside or outside the classroom. © 2019 IEEE.
