Fluctuations in food prices can cause uncertainty about estimated public spending. The purpose of this study is to show the relationship between the price of basic necessities to the total population, the average production amount of community income, and the exchange rate of farmers (NTP) in East Java. Because this matter concerns the interests of all people in meeting their basic needs. The method used is quantitative using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results can be concluded that Farmer Exchange Rates (NTP) significantly influences the stability of rice and sugar prices in East Java. The population also has a significant influence on the price of cooking oil in East Java. © IJSTR 2020.
