The search for thermoelectric materials that can convert heat energy into electrical energy has been studied extensively. In this paper, we report a study on the preparation of Co4Sb12skutterudites which substituted by Ni at Co site to modify local distortion. Co4Sb12was synthesized by using the modified polyol method and fabricated into thin films. It is found that Co4-xNixSb12has cubic crystal system. The Co4-xNixSb12shows the bandgap for samples × = 0 and 0.1 were 1.69 and 1.70 eV, respectively. The electrical conductivity was increased with increasing temperature, indicating that samples can be used as thermoelectric material. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
