The labor market in Indonesia is experiencing profound changes, influenced by demographic trends, rapid technological advancements, and shifting economic conditions. Generation Z, the cohort born from the mid-1990s to early 2010s, constitutes a significant segment of the workforce. This generation is distinct in its values, work preferences, and approach to employment, marking a departure from the traditional norms established by earlier generations; hence, it represents a significant potential source of future leadership. To harness this potential, a supportive and secure environment is crucial for enabling their pursuit of higher welfare. This research aims to identify the opportunities available to Generation Z in Indonesia for increasing their earning, considering factors such as school status, educational attainment, working conditions, employment status, technological skills, and internet use. The analysis employs Quantile regression using data from the 2021 Indonesian National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas). The findings highlight the vital role of education in influencing income levels, demonstrating that those who complete their education tend to earn higher wages. Additionally, Generation Z should leverage their adaptability and digital skills to navigate diverse employment opportunities. © 2026 GMP Press and Printing.
