Abstract

This research aims to develop didactic tools of 2 KW Separately Excited DC Generators to reveal its characteristics, including OCC, internal, and external characteristics. The research method used in this study was research and development (RD) by Richey and Klein. This method consists of design, development, and evaluation. The design step used to analyze and plan the tool prototype was based on teaching materials. Development steps were used to build the tool and its manual book based on the data obtained from the design phase. The evaluation was conducted at the final stage to determine the validity of the didactic tool based on the Likert scale. The findings in this study include (1) the creation of didactic tools of DC Generator, along with its manual book and job sheet to improve the skills of understandings Electrical Machine topics; (2) the products and its material content validity as a teaching media. Therefore, the results of this research and development can be used as an alternative reference for developing the next learning technology. © 2020 IEEE.
