Abstract

In this research, we developed an AI autonomous mobile robot based on open-source software. This robot is capable of voice recognition and object recognition, and with these functions, the robot can find and approach the object specified though a user's voice. Since the robot is controlled with the voice commands, the user can control the robot intuitively. We used a software platform named Robot Operating System (ROS) to speed up the development. All functions including voice recognition, object recognition, and robot control are implemented in a single board computer based on open source software. We conducted the preliminary experiments and verified the performance of the developed system. © 2020 IEEE.
