Amid the government's efforts in boosting the tourism sector, Indonesia must deal with the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the tourism sector. On the other hand, Indonesia has many potential tourism destinations including tourist villages which can be developed to revive the local economy. With limitations in the midst of a pandemic, the solution that can be offered is the development of a smart village application for the promotion of village potential. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the design of user experience to improve usability of Numpang.id as a smart village application. Development of this design is using design thinking with human centered design method. The process of research consisted of emphasizing, defining, ideate, prototyping, and testing. Testing of solution design is done by heuristic testing to find usability problems found in the system interface design. There are six main problems with the design of solution solutions. Of the six problems, solutions are then sought to increase the reliability of the design, leaving as many as zero problems. It is hoped that the design of this solution can be a reference in developing applications in the next stage and has a high acceptance value. © 2020 IEEE.
