This study aims to visualize the Zernike mode and compare it with the transverse electromagnetic (TEM) mode. Visualization has been done using MATLAB with a variety of radial and angular modes of the Zernike polynomial. From the visualization results, it was found that Zernike mode Z20 and TEM00 mode, Zernike mode Z60 and TEM10 mode, also Zernike Z100 and TEM20 the mode had similarities in their wave patterns. Both Zernike mode Z20 and TEM00 mode showed one crest pattern. As for Zernike mode Z60 case, there was found two crests and one trough, which are equal to the crests and troughs of TEM10 mode. Meanwhile Zernike mode Z100 has shown three crests and two troughs, as TEM20 mode has. © 2020 Author(s).
