This paper proposes a new topology in the family of impedance source cells for multilevel applications. The proposed topology integrates DASC-qZSI with CHB Inverter. The proposed topology has several advantages such as high voltage gain, lower switching device inverter voltage stress, lower diode current stress, lower inductor current ripple, and lower output waveform distortion compared to the previous topology. The proposed topology will be compared with the CHB-qZSI and CFL-qSBI topologies. The parameters compared include boost factor, voltage gain, capacitor voltage stress, diode voltage stress, active switch voltage stress, switching device H-bridge inverter voltage stress, inductor current stress, diode current stress, inductor current ripple, and load current THD. PSIM simulation software is used to validate the operating principle and analysis results of the proposed topology. The proposed CHB-DASC-qZSI is recommended for applications requiring high voltage gain with a maximum ideal voltage gain of 16 and better quality of output power such as photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems. © 2020 IEEE.
