Abstract

Interline Photovoltaic (I-PV) has the advantage of being able to provide power to 2 feeders at a time. Thus, the availability of power and voltage stability in the electric power system can be maintained. However, the existence of I-PV has a harmonic effect on the 2 feeders. Harmonic is caused by inverter found in PV. Inverters are classified into nonlinear loads. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of harmonic on the point of common coupling (PCC), feeder 1, and feeder 2 on the I-PV power system. In addition, this paper also analyzes the performance of C-Type passive filter shunts that are placed interline as well as PV. The first scenario without using a C-Type filter in the I-PV topology. The results of THD-V measurements on PCC, feeder 1, and feeder 2 respectively are 17.44%, 17.34%, and 17.23%. As for THD-I in feeder 1 and feeder 2 respectively are 15.9% and 14.55%. The inverter on the I-PV becomes a harmonic source in the power system and causes power quality disturbance in feeder 1 and feeder 2. The second scenario uses a C-Type filter in the I-PV topology. The results of THD-V measurements on PCC, feeder 1, and feeder 2 are 3.84%, 3.84%, and 3.83%, respectively. Whereas for THD-I in feeder 1 and feeder 2 respectively are 3.53% and 3.25%. C-Type filter can mitigate harmonic currents and harmonic voltages from I-PV inverters. © 2020 IEEE.
