The figure of a leader as a guide is very decisive for the progress of education, an attitude of giving and prioritizing the interests of students / the general public being a role model in behaviour will set an example for teachers and students themselves, with the current school. Digital leadership characteristics need to consider in determining prospective vocational school leaders. These criteria are visionary leadership, digital age learning culture, professional development, systemic enhancement, and digital citizenship. This study will implement a new assessment system in determining prospective vocational school principals with digital leadership characteristics using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The application of the AHP method to determine the ranking of choice of vocational school principals uses four alternatives as examples of calculations. From the calculation results, the option obtained that alternative 1 is the best alternative that meets the requirements to be elected as the principal according to the characteristics of digital leadership. It can also conclude that the AHP method can rank with reasonably good results and is entirely accurate and is close to the human ability to make decisions. The test results of this method have applied to the election of principals in several private vocational high schools. And these results can be fully accounted for results that can satisfy various parties based on the provisions set by stakeholders using digital leadership criteria. Digital leadership is one of the leadership needs of vocational education school principals today during the increasingly rapid development of digital technology. © 2020 IEEE.
