Electrical power distribution needs Cikupa District, especially the Permaisuri Feeder, is increasing. The greater the need for electricity to be distributed, the short circuit current will occur. To maintain the stability of the system in the distribution of power to the load, a solution is needed to overcome the magnitude of the short circuit current that occurs. The solution that can be used is the addition of a Current Limiting Reactor (CLR) in the Permaisuri Feeding System. To be able to reduce the large short circuit current, the CLR is influenced by the impedance value. The greater the fault current reduced to normal current, the greater the impedance value of the CLR. In addition, the use of CLR will also be analyzed against the existing protection coordination system in the Permaisuri Feeder. The impact of the use of CLR will be seen from the results of the scenario of 2 Buses experiencing short circuit disturbances of 3 Phase, 2 Phase, 2 Phase to Ground and 1 Phase to Ground. The 2 buses that will be analyzed are CA57 and TG214. The addition of the CLR makes the short-circuit current can be reduced to approach the normal current and also affects the performance of the safety relay on the system if described by the Time Curve Current Characteristic. © 2021 IEEE.
