Conceptual understanding that is owned by pre-service teachers related to the material being studied is a benchmark of learning success. However, pre-service teachers often experience misconceptions that affected their future understanding. This research was a qualitative descriptive study which aimed to analyze students' misconceptions which will be used as a reference to improve their misconceptions. The research subjects consisted of 103 pre-service teachers of physics at a university in Malang. The instrument used consisted of five fluid concept questions. The results showed that there were two main misconceptions, namely misconception in determining the pressure on a sinking object and determining the pressure on the U pipe. © 2021 Author(s).
