Abstract

This study investigated the extent of students' perceptions of the Extended Scratch-Build learning tool. ESB is a computer-based extension concept mapping application that allows learners to expand their previous concept map in promoting improved meaningful learning. ESB approach has been shown to enhance students' understanding and knowledge structure positively. However, there is no information on the extent of learners' intentions in using the ESB tool. Users' perceptions are considered essential in determining their intention to adopt the system development in the future. This study involved the Technology Acceptance Model to determine the students' degree of acceptance using concept mapping. The perceived ease-of-use, perceived usefulness, and behavioral intention questionnaires were used to investigate users' intentions further. The results showed that the learners perceived positive responses on ESB as ease of use and a valuable learning tool. The students agree that the ESB approach is a promising tool and suitable for use in future learning. © 2021 IEEE.
