Task assistance with human-augmented hand and its performance analysis

Abstract

In recent years, the workforce of manufacturing lines that produce a variety of small-quantity products has been aging, and turnover rates are increasing. Manufacturing environments have been improved, but the quality and productivity of human operations are still insufficient, and there remains room for improvement. However, human-augmented technologies are expected to enhance work efficiency. In this study, a system that can analyze human sorting work using a human-augmented hand was developed. The system can measure human movements with six degrees-of-freedom using ArUco markers. Work procedures with the human-augmented hand can be visualized, and it is expected to improve work efficiency and prevent human errors. © 2021 IEEE.
