Environmental knowledge had been taught in schools, but students' environmental attitudes were still low. Biology learning based on problem-based learning with the local potential provide students with the knowledge and introduce real tangible environments in students' lives, this would provide more meaningful learning for students. Actually, in the classroom, the teacher applied science process skills but was not the main focus in developing these skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem-based learning tools with the local potential of mangroves in KebundadapTimur-Sumenep District-Madura island to improve the science process skills and environmental attitudes. The samples of this study were graded 10 MIPA 1 and Class 10 MIPA 2 SMAN 1 Bluto. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group. Data about the results of science process skills and environmental attitudes were tested using the ANCOVA test. The results showed there was an improvement in students' science process skills and environmental attitudes used problem-based learning tools with the local potential of mangroves in KebundadapTimur-Sumenep District-Madura island. © 2021 Author(s).
