Currently, the 4.0 era tends to use technology in daily activities, even starting from toddlers who have been given cellphones for games, so that children are less sensitive to the environment. Therefore it is necessary to research the relationship between knowledge and attitudes towards behaviour. This research is a survey research with a correlational design. The samples used in this study were 272 students of class X, XI, and XII in both majors of MIPA and IPS at SMAN 8 Malang. Data collection using the Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey/Instrument (MSELS/I). Data analysis using Pearson's correlation with the significance value 0.05. From the data analysis, it is known that the higher the grade level, the better the students' knowledge, and the Mathematics and Natural Sciences department is better than the Social Studies department. The attitudes of students, the higher the grade level, the lower the attitudes, and the Mathematics and Natural Sciences department tend to be better than the Social Studies department. The behaviour of class XI students tends to have the lowest behaviour between class X and XII, while those who tend to have the best behaviour are class XII and the MIPA department has better behaviour than the Social Studies department. Based on the relationship pattern, it is known that the greatest effective contribution to behaviour is the attitude, whereas knowledge must be together with the attitude to influence behaviour effectively. © 2021 Author(s).
