This study aims to explore the acquisition of physics concepts in high school students by applying argument- driven inquiry (ADI) learning for STEM education. The study was conducted on 29 students of high school in Kupang using a research design that is an embedded experimental model. Research data were collected by tests, learning observations, and interviews; and analyzed by Normalized Gain Score, pair t-test, and qualitative analysis with reduction and coding. The results showed that Physics concepts acquisition of students experiences positive changes during the learning activities. Students' acquisition of the Physics concept increases (g> = 0.49) and belongs to the medium category after the learning process. This acquisition is supported by the results of coding, which shows that students whose misconceptions have decreased. The ability of students to understand the concepts of Physics, especially thermodynamics, is better than before. © 2021 Author(s).
