One of the problems faced by children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is the deficit to understand other people's emotions. This problem has an impact on the inability of ASD children to understand other people's feelings, interweave the relation, and the ability to empathize. This study aims to conduct usability testing of the Emotion Recognition Assistance application, which was developed to assist teachers in introducing basic emotional expressions. Ten children who were diagnosed with ASD were between the ages of 10 to 20 years as a respondent in this study. This study concludes that the Emotion Recognition Assistance application has proven to be effective in terms of convenience of use and legibility of application content, and not effective in terms of the ease of use of the application. Children with autism spectrum disorders need prerequisite skills, that is understand simple instructions to be able to learn to recognize emotional expressions using this application. © 2022 IEEE.
