Kelompok Tani Tawang Makmur (KTTM) is a farmer community-based in Tawang hamlet led by Moh Chilmi with more than 25 members. KTTM has more than 75.000acre productive agricultural land, with paddy as the most grown crop in Tawang. To irrigate the agricultural land, KTTM has an irrigation canal from a water reservoir scheduled every two weeks to irrigate every hamlet in Bendosewu. According to an interview with a KTTM leader, the main issue they had was that every year the cost of production for the paddy crop was getting higher, but the paddy price was stagnant. This condition forces farmers to have a side job to fulfil their life needs. Furthermore, at the same time, farmers should take care of their crops and have a side job at other places. Implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) has already reached every field, such as education, health, and also agriculture. The design of the controlling and monitoring system for the paddy fields irrigation system could solve the KTTM farmer issue. The integration of renewable energy as a power source could reduce annual cost production for farmers. With mobile applications, farmers could do controlling and monitoring for their paddy field and have information such as remaining water volume, temperature, and humidity, also data logging for water has been used for irrigation systems. The system is implemented in real-world conditions. The systems have a positive impact on farmers in KTTM. They could reduce irrigation costs and control and monitor paddy field irrigation systems using their smartphones from anywhere. © 2022 IEEE.
