This research intended to determine the mechanical properties and fracture morphology of Al-Si alloys reinforced with 0.015 % NiO nanoparticles by increasing the pouring temperature of stir casting. NiO nanoparticles were synthesized by the sol-gel method, then sintered at 400 ?C for 1 hour. After that, the stir casting process had carried out to combine the Al-Si alloys with nickel oxide nanoparticles using 500?rpm rotation speed of the stirrer for 3 minutes and continued by pouring these alloys at 720, 780, and 840?°C. The results show that the increasing pouring temperature of stir casting causes the decrease of Al-Si alloys reinforced with 0.015 % NiO nanoparticles toughness values (from 0.00791?J mm-2 to 0.00545?J mm-2) but increase the hardness value (from 74.21 HR15T to 78.68 HR15T), and fracture morphology becomes shinier and more faceted, like crystal. © 2022 Author(s).
