Development of Integrated Augmented Reality Student Teaching Materials on Volta Cell Materials

Abstract

Technology is very influential in everyday life, for example is the smartphone. Based on observation and interview that conducted on Science Education’s students, an average of 100% of smartphones are used for entertainment. So that the use of smartphones is not only used for entertainment, but for learning, this study aims to develop smartphone-assisted teaching materials in the form of books and integrated Augmented Reality applications that are suitable for use. This research is a research and development (R&D) with 4D development method. The stages carried out include define, design, development and disseminate. Define stage to analyze problems in science education students. The design stage is to design the learning media offered. The develop stage for the process of making learning media. The disseminate stage is to disseminate learning media to target students. The research instrument used was a material expert validation instrument, media expert and readability test. Based on the validation test of material and media experts, the developed teaching materials have a percentage of 86.03% and 91.6%, respectively. The readability test yielded a percentage of 92%. Based on these results, it can be said that the teaching materials in the Augmented Reality integrated Voltaic Cell material were developed for use in lectures. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc..
