This study aimed to determine the pull-out strength, minimum edge distance, slip modulus, and damage pattern of the glued-in rod embedded on laminated bamboo in the grain's perpendicular direction with two edges distance variations. Experiments were carried out using laminated bamboo specimens in blocks in 160 mm length, 100 mm height, and width based on the two edges' distance to achieving this goal. The distance variations between the two edges were 2.5d; 3.0d; 3.5d; 4.0d; and 4.5d, where d is the steel rods' diameter: 8 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm. Steel rods were embedded on laminated bamboo with an anchor length of 40mm and glued with epoxy resin with a thickness of 3 mm. The results showed that the glued-in rod pull-out strength increased with the distance increase of the two edges. The increase in pullout strength was also obtained following the increase in the used rod diameter. On the other hand, the distance variations between the two edges and the glued-in rod's diameter did not have a significant effect on the magnitude of the slip modulus. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc..
