One of the learning resources commonly used in educational units is textbooks. Textbooks have many benefits for students as well as teachers. However, many textbooks in circulation do not meet good quality standards, so it can create misconceptions in the topic being studied. The purpose of this study was to find out the concepts, principles, and writing scientific names errors contained in biology textbooks used by schools in Malang City on closed seed plant topic. The results showed that from the 3 textbooks studied, there were 6 conceptual errors, 5 principal errors, and 15 errors in writing scientific names. It is suggested for teachers to understand the topic with concepts, principles, and writing the scientific name correctly. Therefor, if they find mistakes in textbooks which can make misconception, they can straighten and teach the right one to their students. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
