Abstract

Critical thinking is required for learners in dealing with environmental issues. This research aims to find out the influence of electronic modules on mangrove diversity topic on the critical thinking of 10th grade students. This study used a quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population in the study was all students of 10th grade students of Senior High School 1 Banyuputih, Indonesia. The class X MIPA 1 as the experimental class and students of class X MIPA 2 as the control class. Critical thinking data collection is done by pretest before and posttest after the learning process. The results showed that electronic modules on mangrove diversity topics influenced learners' critical thinking. In the experimental class taught with electronic modules on mangrove diversity topic, the average critical thinking result score was 72.40%. In the control class, the average critical thinking score was 49.15%. Suggestions that can be given are electronic modules on mangrove diversity topic can be a reference material in applying learning in coastal schools. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
