Abstract

Electrical energy generated at the power plant needs to be distributed to the load center through a distribution network. The thing that becomes a concern in the distribution network is the Drop Voltage. Voltage drop is the loss of most of the voltage on a conductor or the difference in value between the voltage sent and the voltage sent. Cable length, cable diameter, capacity, and internal resistance are several factors that can cause a voltage drop. One of the impacts that occur is that the distributed voltage becomes unstable. Unstable voltage occurs in the distribution network at ULP Negara Pecangakan. Therefore, Static Var Compensator (SVC) is needed in this study to minimize the voltage drop. Simulated by placing SVC on the distribution network, it is proven to minimize the amount of voltage drop by comparing the state of the voltage drop in the field. The test was carried out on the distribution system of the Pecangakan feeder which was simulated on the software. The results of the test after installing the SVC experienced an improvement in voltage stability on the bus experiencing a Drop Voltage to an average of 3,8 %. This makes the bus that is experiencing interference to be above the tolerance limit again. © 2023 IEEE.
