This study aims to translate and validate the Indonesian version of the Food Neophobia Scale (ID-FNS), a scale used to measure the tendency to reject new or unfamiliar foods. Despite being adopted in many countries over 30 years, its validation and adaptation reports are unavailable for Indonesian. This measure was tested on 1632 participants aged 18–60 years (M = 26.4, SD = 1.04) spread across 28 provinces in Indonesia. Rasch analysis was adopted for this study. The results of our analysis suggested that no items from the original FNS scale were eliminated. In summary, the ID-FNS is the first to measure food neophobia in the Indonesian context with adequate psychometric properties. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd
