Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder and classified as the third-highest cause of death in Indonesia. The effort of inhibition for this type 2 diabetes mellitus has been focused on the inflammatory cytokine TNF-α. Meanwhile, Rosiglitazone is a synthetic medicine frequently used in therapy for type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Additionally, the exploration of natural resources with anti-inflammatory effects has also been carried out, one of which is in the moringa seed oil. The sterols content within the moringa seeds oil includes campesterol, stigmasterol, and β-sitosterol, predicted to carry anti-inflammatory effects. This in silico study used online websites (UniProt, Pubchem, PASS online, and PkCSM) and various software (Pyrx 0.8, Pymol, and Discovery Studios). The research results suggest that the sterol compounds in the moringa act as the TNF-α inhibitor. Following the obtained great and potentially even more significant probability activity (Pa) value and lowest energy bond, the sterol compounds' pharmacokinetic properties are more excellent than Rosiglitazone medicine. Thus, the sterol compound in the moringa has the potential as the anti-inflammatory agent for type 2 diabetes mellitus patients through obstructing the proinflammatory cytokine TNF-α. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
