Abstract

Engineering education students have a responsibility to become qualified teachers according to industry demands. However, in developing nations, challenges with vocational education include a large number of unemployed graduates and poor teacher quality. The quality of teachers affects the quality of students required by the industry. The core problem that arises is related to the competence of technical education students as prospective vocational teachers. Engineering education students should be prepared to be able to master technological pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK) and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Project-based learning integrated with live massive open online courses (MOOCs) is one of the innovative models. The design of the innovative learning model in this study was developed using the literature review method. This design objectives to improve the quality of student education in the context of preparing a productive workforce. © 2023 Author(s).
