Abstract

Preparation Fe3O4/DEA-TMAH ferrofluids from iron sand was carried out by co-precipitation method. Ferrofluids Fe3O4/DEA-TMAH has three main components, namely Fe3O4/DEA as a filler, TMAH as a surfactant and distilled water as a dispersion medium. Comprehensive characterization was carried out to determine the initial characteristics of the material. The filler has a spinel phase with a lattice parameter of 8.36 Å, a crystal volume of 584.28 Å and a particle size of about 13 nm. The identification of the functional groups succeeded in showing all the presence of filler components. The morphology and elemental analysis showed an agglomerated surface with the major element content, namely Fe and O. Potential energy harvesting applications were carried out through the electromagnetic induction method and obtained significant results as an alternative energy harvesting technology. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
