This research is located in protected forest mount sangga buana, mountainous region conservation Tegalwaru Sub-District, Karawang District, West Java Province. Any change in a land utilizing system from a natural forest into an agricultural system inclines to reduce the biodiversity of soil macrofauna, including agroindustry system. the research was conducted to determine the diversity, uniformity, and riches of the latasol soil macrofauna in the protected forest of mount sangga buana, tegalwaru sub-district, karawang district, west java province as the preliminary data on the research location as supported data for determining the physical and chemical properties of the soil and vegetations that were growing on the research area of protected forest. The research used descriptive observation research design. To keep data validity, data triangulation activity was conducted. The data analysis began from stage of sampling, stage of data identification and calculation, to data evaluation stage. Based on the result data analysis, there are two conclusions: 1) the diversity and the richest of the soil macrofauna animals in the protected area is decrease into medium category, the uniformity of macrofauna animals in the protected area soil is decrease into high category, 2) the condition of the physical and chemical properties of the protected forest is relatively diverse, so it was influenced the diversity, uniformity and richest of macrofauna soil animal. © 2023 Author(s).
