Abstract

This paper reports the synthesis of Mn0.25Fe2.75O4/r-GO nanocomposite from iron sand and corncob using the co-precipitation method with an Mn doping molar fraction of 0.25. The prepared sample was characterized by XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDX to investigate the structure, functional groups, and morphology of the nanocomposite. The diffraction pattern showed that the nanocomposite constructed a crystalline phase of Mn0.25Fe2.75O4/r-GO and amorphous r-GO. The results of FTIR characterization on nanocomposite exhibited those functional groups representing the existence of Mn and Fe-O at 418–480 cm-1 and C=C at 1629 cm-1. According to the results of SEM characterization, the samples had spherical and sheets shape. All samples tended to agglomerate with a distribution particle size around 26–31 nm. Furthermore, the EDX characterization results showed the presence of Fe, Mn, O, and C. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
