Abstract

A nano-ridge texture of zinc oxide (ZnO) was successfully prepared by spray method using ramp-annealing process. The morphology and optical properties of the ZnO nano-ridge were studied at different precursor concentrations. We confirmed that surface morphology changed, where the size of the ridge increases with the increase in the precursor concentration accompanied by a reduction in the ridge-to-ridge distance. Interestingly, the optical absorption and conductivity of the sample were successfully improved, as indicated by high absorption and redshift. This result is ascribed from the presence of defect (~2.02 - 2.2 eV) in our system, as confirmed in the second derivative analysis and FTIR result. This high absorption and conductivity will give an advantage for developing high-performance optoelectronic applications. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
