Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of strains on plastic optical fibers on the intensity of light propagating in the plastic optical fiber cores. Measurement of the effect of the strain was carried out using 3 different light sources, respectively, from the red, green and blue LED lights. The treatment in this study was given a strain by pulling the center of the plastic optical fiber. The results showed that from the three light sources mentioned above, it was found that the strain had an effect on the intensity of the light propagating. The greater the strain, the smaller light intensity value in plastic optical fiber. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
