Most students at SMPN 3 Malang have difficulty learning science because science material is abstract, which is the earth's layer. This learning difficulty is known based on previous research at SMPN 3 Malang. Students at SMPN 3 Malang feel bored learning because the media used during the pandemic is limited. This student boredom can make students' learning motivation decrease. Based on these problems, we aim to increase students' learning motivation by developing pop-up books with material on the layers of the earth. We chose the research procedure using the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consists of five stages, but we only carried out until the fourth stage. We tested the pop-up book media validation in this fourth stage. After doing validation testing, we get a percentage of 91.131% which means that the pop-up book developed is feasible or very valid. We also conducted a readability test for seventh-grade students of SMPN 3 Malang. The readability test got 95.95%, which means that the pop-up book developed is attractive to students during the learning process. © 2023 Author(s).
