In this study, polyvinyl alcohol/hydroxyapatite/magnetite (PVA/HAp/Fe3O4) nanofibers have been successfully synthesized using the electro spinning method. The XRD results confirmed the hexagonal crystal structure for the HAp phase and the cubic spinel structure for the Fe3O4phase. HAp had lattice parameters of a = b = 9.421 Å and c = 6.945 Å, while Fe3O4had lattice parameters of a = b = c = 8.362 Å. The FTIR results showed that the characteristic of PVA appeared at a wavenumber of 3319 cm-1. The presence of HAp was confirmed by the PO43-functional group at a wavenumber of 1450 cm-1and Fe-O functional group appeared at a wavenumber of 615 cm-1to confirm the presence of Fe3O4. The SEM image of the HAp/Fe3O4nanocomposite showed that the particles were spherical in shape with a particle size of 72 nm. The morphology of the nanofibers which was also observed by SEM, showed diameter sizes ranging from 152-256 nm with an average of 207 nm. Interestingly, the antibacterial test results showed that the PVA/HAp/Fe3O4nanofibers have good antibacterial properties, so they are suitable for biomedical applications. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
