Abstract

Recently, research on the synthesis and characterization of ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles has been carried out for various applications. ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles are metal oxide semiconductor materials having unique characteristics due to their electrical and magnetic properties. ZnFe2O4 is widely applied as a catalyst, gas sensor, magnetic material and absorbent material. In addition, ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles have been synthesized using various methods including combustion, coprecipitation, sol-gel, hydrothermal, and sonochemistry methods. Each method applied in ZnFe2O4 has its own advantages and drawbacks for particular applications. The doping process also affects the performance of ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles when applied to certain applications. The structures, morphology, and optical properties of ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles were investigated by X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), and Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis). Meanwhile, the magnetic properties were characterized using a Vibrator Sample Magnetometer (VSM). This paper discusses the development of the synthesis of ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles regarding the various synthesis methods and their applications. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
