Cyclemis dentata is a common turtle in Asia with the type locality from Java and well-distributed in Indonesia. C. dentata was categorized as Near Threatened due to hunting for medicinal materials, food, and pets. Thus, this study aims to provide the ecological information and their current population size estimation in Sukamade, Meru Betiri National Park. We conducted the population observation by using transect line method in the dry and rainy seasons. At the first survey we found 7 individuals (2 males and 5 females), furthermore, in the second time, we observed 8 individuals (5 males and 3 females). All individuals found were inhabiting streams in the lowland areas (±102 meters above sea level) within secondary forest, and mostly seen underwater. Based on the population size estimation (P) and Catches per Unit Effort (CPUE) calculations in the first survey, we relieved numbers of P =106.06 individuals/km2or 17.7 individuals/Ha and CPUE score equal 0.07 individuals/hour with 6 people. On the second observation, we obtained P= 102.6 individuals/km2or 17.1 individuals/Ha and CPUE score equal 0.13 individuals/hour with 4 people. Therefore, we conclude that the population size of C. dentata in Sukamade Resort was in the stable number, with minimal disturbance of environmental changes. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
