Abstract

This study investigated the effect of an outdoor activity exercise model using the K-sport App for maintaining the physical fitness of teenagers. One hundred forty teenagers of an average age of 17 were selected as the research participants. This study was experimental. Data were obtained from tests and analysed using a t test. In this case, the t test was applied to explore the model's effectiveness. Before developing the tested model, we conducted an expert review of the coaching experts. The test results from 12 days of training of 33 participants showed that the model could be applied. However, it needs to be divided into three activities: light, moderate, and heavy, the instrument used was the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test from 2022. consisting of a pacer test.60- second sit-up v sit and reach, and the last squat thrust 30 seconds everything sequentially, and the result was accumulated In addition, the t test results indicated that this outdoor activity exercise model is effective for maintaining the physical fitness of adolescents. This is reflected by t0 = 2.755 > t-table = 1.977. This means that outdoor activities are better than typical activities, and the physical fitness of the adolescents increased after they followed the outdoor activity exercise model. Therefore, H0 was rejected. The effect of outdoor activity for 12 days shows that the model can be applied. In addition, there was a difference in the quality of learning between the control and experimental groups. The experimental group (involved in the outdoor exercise model) was better than the control group. Thus, the outdoor activity exercise model is more effective for maintaining the physical fitness of teenagers outside of activities carried out during physical education learning. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.
