Abstract

Injection Molding is a process of forming products from plastic materials by using heat treatment and giving an injection to the mold (mold). Parameters used in the injection molding process include injection speed, injection pressure, injection time, and on barrel temperature. This study uses a DoE L9 fractional orthogonal array with 3 repetitions to determine fluctuations. The shrinkage analysis process is carried out by measuring the dimensions of the length & width of both sides that are on the edge of the X & Y axes, the next process using the Taguchi method to determine the optimum parameters based on the plot effect. The results of this study get the minimum shrinkage value after being optimized, which can be seen from the gain value at the S/N ratio in the initial design with robust design in the X & Y axis. © 2023 Author(s).
