Abstract

This paper demonstrates a novel single rectifying converter controller based on Virtual Synchronous Motor (VSM) based for fast charging station (FCS). The proposed controller uses the SOC voltage feedback parameter as the virtual flux model through the motor's reactive power loop in VSC model. The result in MATLAB simulations verified the controller's ability to adapt to the battery SOC, grid voltage and frequency response and accurately track the rated FCS active power of 150 kW within 0.05 s transient duration, and maintain power stability with high closed-loop gain (128 dB) and phase (89.3°) margins. These results indicate a highly stable system with robustness to gain and phase variations suitable for future E-mobility during network stability. ©2024 IEEE.
