Abstract

The Smart Electronic Health Monitoring System (SEHMoS) addresses the challenge of infrequent health check-ups due to time constraints and financial limitations, which often result in the delayed detection of health issues. SEHMoS is a user-friendly, practical solution in the form of an adhesive gel pad sticker that can be easily attached to the body. It monitors body temperature and heart rate, with results displayed on an LCD screen. Amidst the ongoing pandemic, SEHMoS proves to be a valuable tool for self-examination, reducing unnecessary hospital visits and minimizing the risk of COVID-19 exposure. SEHMoS addresses these barriers by providing an affordable, non-invasive, and convenient monitoring solution for various demographics, including those with busy schedules, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and frequent travelers. The system workflow involves temperature and heart rate sensors connected to the Arduino via jumper wires, with user interaction facilitated by a button. The results displayed on the LCD screen guide users through the process with the displayed temperature and heart rate readings. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
