Abstract

This study aimed to describe the preferences of high and low anxiety students on oral corrective feedback in an online speaking class, the types of errors that require correction, and the timing of oral corrective feedback. This study employed a survey methodology. The participants in this study were 65 students from a college in Indonesia. The findings indicated that students with high and low levels of anxiety prefer explicit corrective feedback from their teacher. Both groups also agree that their teacher should focus on correcting their serious errors rather than on the minor ones. Additionally, the students want the teacher to correct them when they have already finished speaking. As students are aware of the goal of oral corrective feedback, their level of anxiety has no effect on their choice for oral corrective feedback. © 2023 Author(s).
