Abstract

This study aims to explore the problem solving numeracy literacy skills of fourth grade elementary school students, as a basis for developing an Enactive-Iconic-Symbolic Problem-Based Model Based on Blended Learning. The participants in this study were 28 fourth grade elementary school students in Karangploso, Malang, East Java. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The type of data obtained is the test results of problem solving stories. Data collection techniques using tests, document analysis, and interviews. The data analysis technique uses thematic analysis, while the validity of the data uses triangulation, member checking, and reflexivity. The results showed that students' numeracy literacy skills were problem solving, namely students were able to solve problems in the form of story questions, students were able to analyze the information obtained from the questions and then use analytical interpretations to predict and draw conclusions. In addition, it is also known the obstacles faced by students, namely: students have difficulty understanding the problem, difficulty in finding problem-solving strategies, difficulty in coming up with alternative answers to the same question. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
