The increasing need for green space in urban areas is a major concern in supporting environmental sustainability. One of the solutions implemented is a vertical garden, a vertical garden that not only beautifies buildings but also helps absorb air pollutants. However, to maintain the survival of plants in vertical gardens, an efficient and environmentally friendly irrigation system is needed. This study aims to develop and implement Solar Power Plants (PLTS) as the main energy source in operating a water pump system in vertical gardens based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This system is designed to utilize solar energy as a renewable energy source, which drives automatic pumps according to plant needs monitored through soil moisture, and temperature. Data from these sensors is sent in real-time to the IoT platform, allowing automatic irrigation settings based on environmental conditions. The IoT-based system also enables effective remote monitoring and control, increasing the efficiency of water use and maintaining the stability of the vertical garden ecosystem. Thus, this research makes a significant contribution to the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly vertical garden technology, especially in the urban context. © 2024 IEEE.
